Company Culture.....Built it to last!

How many of us dread going to work each day? We typically do it because we have a family to support and we need to keep a roof over our heads, right? When we dread going to work, we often feel as if we are just a warm body punching to clock. Our attitude reflects our lack of appreciation that is there when we feel that way. Who has been there? (I've been there-insert hand raise)

Now, let me ask you this - How many of you love what you do, and enjoy going to work each day? Are you in an environment that cares about you and your family? Being in that type of environment is vital for the mind body and soul. Not to mention you preform well at work.

Lets chat about 3 tips or tricks that we use for our company culture and to keep our environment

  1. Team Manual

Create a company handbook or Team Member Manual. This is where all of the do's and don'ts are put in black and white. So each person knows what is acceptable and what isn't. Our manual covers workplace harassment, At-Will employment, time-off, company conduct, health and safety, and so much more. . Keep in mind this is a working document and can be changed at any time. Policies can be update and new policies can be formed, all which need to be added to your manual.

2. Mission Statement:

The formal summary of the aims and values of the company, organization or individual. A statement that every decision is based off of. A statement that helps us as a company understand what we value in our relationships whether its with our clients or our team.

Brunner's Mission Statement:

" We Serve Our Clients and Our Team With Integrity, Dependability, and Respect"

3. Treating Your Team Well:

Do you rewards your team? Do you share meals together? Do you have company outings?

The most important thing when it comes to treating your team well is to listen to them when they are upset. The Team is the heart and soul of a company. If something is bothering the team, listen to them. Let them know you are in their corner, even when the problem may be YOU.

We do our best to do something monthly. Whether it's team meals, team outings, Holiday parties, volunteering within the community. Jump in and work along side of your team and let them know that they are appreciated.

A Season of Thanksgiving

What does Thanksgiving mean? What does it mean to you?

Thanksgiving is a secular holiday that is celebrated in many countries, United States, Canada, Grenada, Saint Lucia, and Liberia. However, celebrated on different dates throughout the year. Japan and Germany also have similar named holidays.

Thanksgiving was originally celebrated as a day of giving thanks and sacrifice for the blessing of the harvest and of the preceding year. In 1621 the pilgrims called it their

"First Thanksgiving" They fired cannons and firearms in Plymouth, Mass.

While things are much different in the 21 Century, we still celebrate gratitude. We still celebrate the Fall Harvest and the meal that is put before us on Thanksgiving Day no matter the capacity; home cooked, take out, or soup kitchen.

We all have had a trying couple of years. We are so very thankful for the blessings that have been bestowed upon us, for the clients that we have the privilege of servicing and the team we get to support. All of which are vital to our survival. This year has shown us many things, but time and time again, it shows us that we should be thankful.

As you enjoy this season of Thanksgiving with your loved ones, family and friends we wish you all warmth, good food and all of the laughter possible.
