Droppin' Decks!

Spring has Sprung!

This Spring Season is here!! The beginning of April we dropped the decks and turned the blades on for the first time this season. The first couple weeks of the season wasn't to kind to us, we have had several hiccups along the way, but we are smooth sailing now. With our new software, LMN, we have had several growing pains, not to mention lost keys and missing dip sticks from mowers, such as life in this industry, right?! Our teams are resilient, and bounce back time and time again, what a fabulous crew we have. As we start turf maintenance keep in mind that those April showers are going to bring May flowers. So plant those annuals no earlier than Mother's Day. Why you ask? Well typically after Mother's day there isn't a chance for frost. That is when Brunner's be plating over 1,000 Petunias and Begonias. Yes, you read that number right! The end of May we will start trimming shrubbery. (Bring me a shrubbery, one that looks nice and isn't too expensive. Know the movie? Bonus point if you know the movie reference..)

Backyard Oasis

Are you looking to have work done in your yard or on your property this year? We all love a backyard oasis, right? If you are wanting to hire someone to do that for you, now is the time to call around for those proposals. Even though it is the start of the season, most places that do that type of work are already backed up several weeks, at least 4-5 weeks. That puts you right in time with Memorial Day, graduation parties and the start of "Summer"

We can help you with all of that, pick up the phone give us call or email us and we will be happy to give you a quote and get that project started for you! Let us do the work while you relax. After all isn't that what summer is about?

Remembering our Fallen

Remembering our fallen - that isn't what most people think about when they think of Memorial Day. They think it's a kick off to summer festivities. Well, it isn't. Being a Veteran Owned company and having several Veterans that are on staff here at Brunner's this "holiday" always hits a little different.

Do you know the History behind Memorial "Decoration" Day? Well let me tell you...

In 1868, General John A. Logan of the Grand Army of the Republic called for a "Decoration Day" which was celebrated on May 30th from 1868 - 1970, and was widely celebrated. By 1890, every Northern state had adopted it as a holiday. The World Wars turned it into a generalized day of remembrance, instead of just for the Civil War. In 1971, Congress standardized the holiday as "Memorial Day" and changed its observance to the last Monday in May. This holiday has been celebrated for 153 years. 2022 will make the 154 Memorial Day that has been celebrated.

This Memorial Day when you crack open a beer, fire up the grill and open the pool, remember why you are able to do that. You have been given that freedom by every fallen solider that signed that blank check and paid the ultimate price.

May Rock Star's!

This months Rock Star is the back bone to our shop.

He started at Brunner's not that long ago because he wanted to get off the couch. Dustin comes to us highly recommended by a client of ours, Independent Can.

Dustin makes sure that our equipment is

functional on a daily basis and keeping up with the equipment that breaks out in the field can be tough. Dustin is always asking if there is anything he can do to help. He has gone out to help with lawn treatments, as well as, mulching when we have had staffing issues. He has a cheery disposition and is a true team player. Dustin hasn't been with us long, but he is a great addition to our team.

Congratulations Dustin! This is well deserved. (Picture given to us by his wife)

Admin Rock Star:

This months Admin Rock Start comes at no surprise to us! His crew speaks very highly of him. They tell me how compassionate, kind, caring and what a hard worker he is. In the Winter months when he is in the office, I can see exactly what they are talking about. (I do not see him much during the mowing season in the office)

He is always taking the new guys under his wing to show them the ropes and then lets them soar. Josh, is a family man, with a beautiful wife and 3 kids at home. His oldest is getting ready to graduate and head off to WSU. Brunner's and it's Turf crew is lucky to have Josh. I forgot to mention, that Josh is one of the founding owners that started Brunner's. Thank you Josh for all that you continue to do for Brunner's and your crews. Congratulations, this is well deserved!

"Thanks for being the best Business Partner. Your such a good work wife" - Gary, CEO
