July, A Month of Independence and Celebration

We kick off July with Celebrating Our Independence

Dating back to the 18th century, that is when the Centennial Congress voted in favor of Independence. Two days later delegates from 13 colonies adopted the Declaration of Independence, a historic document drafted by Thomas Jefferson. From 1776 to the present day, July 4th has been celebrated as the birth of American independence, with festivities ranging from parades, fireworks, concerts, as well as, a more casual family gatherings and barbecues.

Did you know? John Adams believed that July 2nd was the correct date on which to celebrate the birth of American Independence, and would reportedly turn down invitations to appear at July 4th events in protest. Adams and Thomas Jefferson both died on July 4, 1826—the 50th anniversary of the adoption of the

Declaration of Independence.

The office will be closed on Monday, July 4th. It is important to us that we give our team a much needed break, as well as time with their families.

Do you have plans for July 4th? We hope that whatever you are doing you have the best time.

7 Landscape Elements That You Should Take Into Consideration:

A beautiful backyard landscape design does not have to cost a fortune. With effort and creativity, you can transform your ordinary outdoor space into something both aesthetically pleasing and ultimately functional.

Whether you’re designing your backyard landscape for entertainment, visual appeal, or pure practicality, here are 7 elements that to go by that will help you create your space.

1. Texture - Texture helps you decide how to add variety to your design.

2. Simplicity - Keep things straightforward, stick to the fundamentals

3. Balance - keeps your colors in check and the size of your plants proportionate.

4. Color - Use the Color Theory to help you decide what color works best for your space.

5. Unity - The key is consistency when designing any outdoor space.

6. Scale - When it comes to plants and decoration, avoid random placement. Find what complements your home and space.

7. Form - Form is the shape of all plants in your backyard landscape design.

Have you used any of these landscape elements to build your backyard oasis? If so which one(s).

Hey, Hey it's our CEO'S Birthday!

I wanted to write a blurb about our CEO, since July 4th is his birthday! However, when he asked what my articles were for the news letter and I told him I got the stink eye. So If you see him on the 4th or anytime this month I encourage you to wish him a Very Happy Birthday!

Gary, your team is grateful for your time and dedication not only to us but to Brunner's. Thank you for all you do for us. We are wishing you the Happiest of Birthday!

Okay enough of the snappiness - Lets talk Brunner's Rockstar for the month of July!

July's Rockstar!

This month we only have one Rockstar and that is OK!

Being recognized for one’s talents are extremely important to an individual’s confidence as well as a company’s overall health. This month was hard for our staff to pick a Rock Star because all of them have worked really hard, they stepped up and some are even being cross-trained.

The team has chosen Jacob Carnes to receive this illustrious title.

Jacob has worked for Brunners Lawn and Service’s since 2018. Jacob is a dependable Team Leader who is extremely smart and witty. He is always stepping up and taking charge with the guys in the shop. Jacob is like a well oil machine, he knows what needs to be done and how to direct his teammates to get it done. Jacob always has something funny to say. His boss and co-workers say he is "pretty damn funny"

We all need that one guy on the team that is able to crack a joke at a moments notice and lighten the mood. Jacob, this is well deserved! Congratulations!!
