This weekend I went on a motorcycle ride through the beautiful mountains in Pennsylvania. It was a time to think about business and why I do it. I do this trip yearly and it is always a weekend that I get to really reset my priorities. It is like my new year. With over three hundred and fifty miles and six hours to think, my only regret is not being able to write down all of the random ideas as a thought them. Last year, I reset my religious priorities. I reset my belief in the trinity known as the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. That weekend last year set my path towards leadership with the youth of my church. This year, I thought about business. I thought about what I have to do to own a significant market share in the lawn and landscape industry. I pondered on how to become the best company to work for in the region and what needs to be done to accomplish it. And finally, I thought about customer relations. How can I make commercial and high end residential clients alike buy our product? Why should they buy from Brunner’s Lawn and Services? It all comes down to customer care.
Customers need to feel valued and respected. A sale should not be about money alone, but about what need is being filled for the client. A client must know that the lawn or mulching service was up to their standard and worth every penny that is to be paid.

We ensure that we do what we say we are going to do and do not expect payment until the utmost satisfaction is met. At the end of the day, a client needs to be considered as part of the team. It takes a client’s opinion and criticism to mold a good customer service oriented company. Client input is everything. A company must be able to effectively listen to the client bas and fix problems and build on successes. Without communication, we would have to flu by the seat of our pants. That is no way to operate a quality company.
